Mr. Andrew Midkiff (most people call him "Midkiff") started teaching in Katy ISD at WoodCreek Junior High in 2010.  In 2013, he took over as the theatre director at Morton Ranch Junior High.  In 2020, Mr. Midkiff opened Jordan High School as the theatre director and Performing Arts Center (PAC) Manager.  Mr. Midkiff strives to put the students at the center of everything.  His goal with each lesson and production is to teach students to work collaboratively, building connections with each other and their communities.  Prior to his career in education, Mr. Midkiff worked for numerous theatre companies across the country.  Whether singing with various opera companies, acting on stage and in film, building sets and props for the HERE Arts Center in New York City, rigging lights and sound for Metallica, performing and stage managing for Lubbock Moonlight Musicals, he found joy in all aspects of the theatrical experience.  In 2009, Mr. Midkiff graduated from Texas Tech University with his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre.  Shortly thereafter, he moved to Houston where he began performing with the Houston Grand Opera chorus,  Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center (both on stage and backstage), and Books Alive, a philanthropic children’s theatre company.  Mr. Midkiff earned his Master of Education in 2017 from the University of Texas at Arlington.  He resides in Katy with his wife, Morgan, and his two children, Eli and Clara Jo.
